GB Home Surveys is a new brand which offers residential home surveys, including valuations, RICS Homebuyer Reports and building surveys, to home buyers across the UK. 

It provides a quick, simple, hassle-free service to help its customers understand the condition of a property, so they can purchase with confidence.

It is part of one of the country’s leading independent chartered surveyors, which has been providing expert, trusted services for almost 30 years.

All its services are delivered by experienced and friendly surveyors who are all RICS members and are RICS registered valuers, to provide customers with a reliable, honest and affordable service.

Challenging the norm

The Challenge

GB Home Surveys was created to offer home valuation services directly to homebuyers, rather than lenders and property professionals. 

It approached QBD for advice on the best way to get the brand to market, establish credibility and start selling its services.  

To achieve this, GB Home Surveys was looking to challenge the way chartered surveyors traditionally offer their services direct to homebuyers, and create a consumer-focused website that is much more appealing to today’s tech-savvy, digital first customers. 

The website needed online booking functionality to start generating a pipeline of enquiries for its team of surveyors based at five regional offices across England and Wales. 

GB Home Surveys was also looking for ongoing support with its SEO and digital marketing to build the brand’s credibility and showcase its expertise, as well as establishing the new website’s visibility in the search engines, and then extending its reach to attract more ideal customers. 

A fresh approach

The Solution

We held several initial discussions with GB Home Surveys’ managing director, James Quinn, to gain a deeper understanding of the new business, its brand concept and its objectives.

It was clear that we needed to take a fresher, more direct approach to communicating its offer online, to make the site more appealing to a younger generation of buyers who are more used to purchasing everything using technology. 

Our solution was to design and develop a new online platform for GB Home Surveys, which enables customers to choose their home survey online and request a quote and appointment in just a few clicks.  

The navigation was split between the types of survey customers can choose, and its regional offices, so the website could be optimised to rank highly in local search results. 

We also helped to develop a tone of voice and messaging style for the brand that was clear, direct and consumer-friendly, to help set it apart from its more traditional competitors. 

Once the site went live, we provided ongoing digital marketing support, through a G-Series Growth Package, to deliver regular blog, social media and PPC activities to help increase the website’s visibility, establish the brand’s credibility and showcase its expertise to potential customers. 

Instant visibility

The Impact

With a brand new URL, it’s hard for a new website to make an impact quickly. But, through a combination of ongoing SEO and digital marketing, we have been able to establish the site’s visibility in search and drive traffic to the site through PPC, social media and other inbound activities. 

Since its launch, the website has generated a substantial number of enquiries from a new audience, with a high conversion rate of 42%, generating thousands of pounds in revenue. Overall, the site attracts thousands unique visitors each month, with almost 70% of its traffic coming via QBD-driven activity including social media, PPC and organic search.
