Challenging the norm

The Challenge

Interlevin TEFCOLD is a longstanding QBD client, and we have worked with its team on several digital projects over the past seven years.

It initially approached us to create an ecommerce platform to help it enter the world of online sales and keep ahead of the market.

Over the years, this brief has broadened out to integrate its sales, accounting, stock control, transport/delivery and CRM systems, automate several of its key processes and streamline its customer journey to bring more of its customer base online.

A fresh approach

The Solution

Most of our work for Interlevin has centred around the eCommerce web platform we built.

However, we have taken a consultative approach with the client from day one to help ensure that the website could be integrated with a host of systems and processes to help Interlevin streamline its operations.

We created a bespoke ‘Salesdesk’ feature, which enables its office-based sales staff to process orders online, on behalf of distributors, with pre-loaded customer data and pricing details.

The platform has also automated the customer journey from start to finish so that once an order is placed, it goes through accounts, warehousing, transport and delivery automatically, with checks in place to ensure each order is accurately processed and fulfilled.

Instant visibility

The Impact

Interlevin TEFCOLD was looking to achieve online sales of at least 10% of its turnover in the first 12 months. We helped them smash this to reach over 30% of sales online in the first year and have assisted them in improving this to over 50% of sales, which we are helping them to increase further.

The site now regularly processes around £1m worth of online sales every month.

We have also helped them give their customer a faster, simpler and more transparent purchasing process and greater access to product data and information, critical when selling high value commercial products

The ‘Salesdesk’ functionality we built into the platform has automated several key business processes and has massively reduced the risk of incorrect data being inputted into the system because of user error. The platform has also optimised many of Interlevin TEFCOLD’s other key business processes, helping to bring more of its customers online and freeing up valuable staff time and resources, which can be better focused on other areas of the business.

Justin Allfree, Interlevin TEFCOLD’s Marketing Manager, said: “We’ve worked with QBD for a long time and have always been impressed by both their understanding of our business and objectives, but also in their consultative approach to finding solutions to the challenges we face.

“We operate in an extremely competitive marketplace. To maintain our position as market leader, it is crucial that the technology we invest in futureproofs the business, keeps us ahead of the curve and helps us run more efficiently.

“From the initial challenge of taking our sales online to integrating our business systems and streamlining processes, the QBD team has been on hand to not only develop solutions but also explain, in simple terms, how they work and the benefits they will bring to the business.

“And because the whole system has been built by QBD, it means we can respond quickly to any changes in the market to keep ahead of the curve.”
