Say hello to our Head of Lead Generation

In the latest of our series of Meet the Team profiles, we catch up with Rich Brown to find out a bit more about his role as Head of Lead Generation and the work he does to support clients.

How long have you been with QBD, and what are your main roles?

I joined the team in January 2019 and am responsible for helping our clients get the most from all the digital marketing platforms they use, to help them get more leads and sales and, ultimately, achieve their growth objectives.

Day to day, this includes managing clients’ paid ad accounts on Facebook and LinkedIn, creating content for and managing clients’ social media accounts, running email campaigns and designing and building landing pages which deliver results.

What did you do prior to joining?

Before joining QBD, I had my own business offering social media training, consultancy and management to a wide range of clients in and around the Worcester area.

Prior to that, I worked in a variety of marketing, events and fundraising roles in the charity sector, with organisations including Cancer Research UK and Acorns Children’s Hospice.

What’s your skillset?

Having a deep knowledge of all the digital marketing platforms, especially the social media ones I can help people get the most from them. As well as managing clients’ accounts I also run training sessions and often give talks, or presentations about digital marketing, which I really enjoy doing.

I am highly skilled and experienced in paid ads, especially Facebook Ads, for which I have received recognition directly from Facebook for the campaigns I have run.

What do you enjoy most about working at QBD?

I really like the fact we’re a group of skilled people with our own specialisms that work together. The values and ethos of QBD is very much in line with my own, which means a lot to me.

Where do you live? Do you have family or pets?

I live in Worcester with my wife and two young boys.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

As corny as it sounds, I do enjoy tech/digital things, so am often reading about the latest trends, innovations and updates in the digital marketing world. I love my sport, especially cricket, and also enjoy football and golf. On occasion, I also play the guitar – not very well. I also love Lego, we have a whole room in our house called the Lego Lounge.

Tea or coffee?

Neither. I don’t drink tea or coffee which really unnerves people.

Sweet or savoury?

Savoury.

Favourite film?

I do love films and have lots of favourites, but Remember the Titans is my number one.

Favourite music?

I’m a bit of an indie kid. Noel Gallagher is my absolute favourite. I’ve seen him loads, both solo and with Oasis.

Favourite food?

While you can’t beat good old fish n’ chips, I’ll have to go with burgers.

Ideal dinner party guests and why?

Noel Gallagher, as I said, love his music and him. Also, Ewan McGregor, because I love his Long Way Round shows, and Ricky Gervais, who is probably my favourite comedian. I’ve seen him live a few times and am often caught quoting David Brent.

If you could have any super-power, what would it be?

My favourite superhero is Superman, so I would love to be able to fly.

Quirky fact about yourself

I was a Torch Bearer of the Olympic Flame in 2012, which I’m very proud of. I once appeared live on South Korean TV, while outside the Yankees Stadium in New York.
